Voices of Cuba: An Oral History Journey

January 17-24, 2026

Havana • Soroa • Trinidad • Topes de Collantes • Playa Ancón

Experience Cuba through its voices. This 9-day / 8-night journey invites travelers to explore Cuba’s vibrant landscapes and layered histories — guided by the belief that every journey can be a form of profound listening.

Led by Travel Cuba With Us, this small-group program blends ethical travel, oral history practice, and cultural exchange. Participants will meet Cuban artists, entrepreneurs, farmers, and storytellers whose lived experiences illuminate the island’s evolving identity.

Through guided conversations, story circles, and guided site visits, you’ll gain firsthand insight into how oral history deepens understanding, builds empathy, and preserves memory, while also directly supporting the Oral History Association.

Why This Journey?

  • Participate in informal oral history sessions and community conversations across Havana, Soroa, and Trinidad.

  • Your experience is licensed under Support for the Cuban People, ensuring all activities directly benefit local Cubans.

  • Proceeds from this journey will help sustain the Oral History Association’s mission of advancing education, ethics, and advocacy for oral historians worldwide.

  • From an herbalist preserving Cimarrón culture to coffee farmers in Los Tumbos, you’ll meet the voices behind Cuba’s resilience.
